Will my dog be compatible with a kitten?

I have a Young dog, 5 years old, and he weighs 60 pounds, but very friendly dog. He is friendly and likes all animals and does not have an aggressive bone in his body. He was fostered as a baby with cats for several weeks and I was informed that he used to be good with them but no further discussion was done. I wish someone would gift me a cat and a dog, else I have been considering a kitten/cat. The only concern is whenever he does play with dogs, he hardly realizes that he is bigger and sometimes paws at other small ones or plays at par with them. He also has noise fear he runs from loud audial noises and shows no aggression, so he is an anxious child. This way I will know that he will treat the cat safely In this way, I will know that he will treat the cat safely Further, would it be right to allow a single cat into a home with a dog, is it better to take a kitten or an adult cat and is it unethical to keep only on.

It depends on your dog’s temperament and how well they adapt to new animals. Many dogs and kittens can get along with proper introductions and supervision. It’s important to monitor their interactions and ensure both pets feel safe.
