Why would a cat be so furious to an extent that it attacks the owner?

My sisters cat is becoming rogue lately, always furios and very ready to launch attacks on her. Could there be a disorder or not?

It could be due to stress or changes in the cat’s environment. Cats are sensitive to changes, and if something has changed in the household or routine, it might be causing the aggression.

My sister’s cat has recently turned aggressive, always on edge and quick to swipe or bite, which has left her wondering if something more serious is going on. I know that sudden behavior changes in cats can sometimes be due to underlying health issues, like pain, anxiety, or even conditions like hyperthyroidism. Other times, it could be a sign of stress from changes in the environment, or just a response to feeling threatened or overstimulated. I suggested she take the cat to the vet to rule out any medical problems first, and if that checks out, maybe explore behavioral solutions like creating a calmer environment or engaging the cat in more play to redirect its energy.
