Why does my cat scream and bite me when I'm arguing?

Hi, I IDK why my cat does this, and I kinda wanna know. She’s 4 years old and has been doing this for about 2 years. Whenever I’m in an argument that involves yelling, she jumps on my back, screams at me, and bites my neck. It’s like she’s trying to get me away from the argument and forces me upstairs. What’s going on with her behavior?

Sounds like your cat is really sensitive to your emotions. Cats can pick up on stress and yelling, and she might be trying to comfort you or break up the tension.

Cats often react to loud noises and stress by trying to intervene. Your cat might just be trying to protect you or herself from the chaos.

My cat does something similar! It’s like they can sense when things get heated. You might want to create a calm space for her during arguments.

It could also be that she wants your attention! Cats can get jealous when they feel ignored during tense moments.

Maybe consider redirecting her energy when arguments happen. A toy or treat could help distract her from the yelling!
