What should I do with this rescue mouse?

My cat brought me a mouse that seemed dead but then surprised me by moving. I took her inside and she’s been in a cozy box with food and water. She has some health issues, like a swollen eye and possible broken bones, but she’s eating and drinking well. I’m unsure if I should take her to the vet or just let her rest and heal. This is my first time dealing with a rescue mouse, so any advice would be super helpful.

You should take her to a wildlife center where they can assess her condition. They might need to humanely euthanize her if she’s suffering.

I agree. Mice can have serious health issues after a cat attack, and they may need antibiotics. Also, watch your cat in case she got into anything harmful.

Try not to handle her too much. She needs a quiet, dark space with soft bedding to recover. Just keep her safe and comfortable for now.

Keep her warm and comfy, and give her time to rest. She may surprise you with her recovery.

Maybe just flush the mouse and reward your cat. Just kidding, but seriously, get her the help she might need.
