Trazodone and Constipation in Dogs

I’ve been prescribed Trazodone for my dog to help with anxiety, but I’m concerned about potential side effects. Can anyone share their experiences or knowledge about whether Trazodone can cause constipation in dogs? If so, are there any ways to mitigate this side effect or should I be concerned?

I’m so happy to have found this forum. My Shih Tzu was given this medication to aid with grooming stress, and after a day of constipation, he developed diarrhea. I looked up the adverse affects online, and it’s comforting to know that they are actually rather frequent.
