Thinking about getting a small parrot... any suggestions?

Hey everyone! I’m looking to add a small parrot to my family. Any suggestions on which kind might be the best fit? I’m super curious and excited! :slightly_smiling_face:

For a small parrot, you might want to consider budgies, lovebirds, cockatiels, or parrotlets. Budgies are playful and can learn words; lovebirds are social and enjoy companionship; cockatiels are gentle and love whistling; and parrotlets are tiny but full of personality. Each has unique traits and needs, so choose one that best matches your lifestyle and time for interaction. They’re all great options for a lively and affectionate pet! :blush::bird:

@Haru
Thanks dude :slightly_smiling_face:

You should really think about getting at least 2. They can get lonely if left alone too much.

What do you mean by getting at least 2? Is it better for them?

Yeah, they thrive on companionship! Having a buddy helps them stay happy and active.

I’ve heard cockatiels are super chill. They’re great if you want a friendly bird that likes to hang out.

That sounds nice! Do they require a lot of space?

Not really, they just need some room to move around and some playtime outside the cage! :parrot:

Lovebirds are super cute but can be a handful! They like to bond closely with their owners.

That sounds fun! Are they hard to train?

They can be trained, but it takes patience. Consistent interaction is key! :blush:

Parrotlets are small but have huge personalities! They can be a bit sassy though, lol.

They can be, but it depends on the individual bird. Supervised interactions are a must! :smile:
