Hey guys, we were given a dog recently, but now the supposed owners are saying it’s stolen. It’s been a bit of a wild ride since we got the dog. A family friend asked us if we could find a good home for it. We did, but now the original owners are making a scene and threatening to report us. Are we legally obligated to give the dog back? Any advice would be super helpful!

Yeah, I’m worried about legal trouble. Plus, I found out the original owners have a pretty sketchy background.
Since the original owners didn’t take care of the dog properly, that can work in your favor. Just keep documenting everything.

Yeah, it’s a bit scary. I really don’t want to return the dog to them.
