Yesterday, I came home to a wild scene. My Great Dane, while I wasn’t home, decided to climb up onto the kitchen counter and got into my stash of edibles made with RSO. I found him rolling deep on the couch, looking like he was having the time of his life. The edibles were in a Tupperware container inside a freezer bag, and he ate all of them. I panicked and took him to the emergency vet. They did what they could, but there wasn’t much they could do other than send him home and have him drink fluids. Thankfully, he’s doing all right now and feeling better, but I feel like a complete asshole for letting this happen.
Oh no, that sounds intense! Glad to hear he’s okay though. Dogs really know how to get into trouble

Right? It’s like they have a sixth sense for finding mischief. Did the vet say anything else?
@Zeke
They just said to keep an eye on him and make sure he stays hydrated. Nothing else really needed.
You’re not an asshole. It happens to the best of us. I once left some snacks out and my dog had a feast

Thanks, I appreciate that. It’s just one of those moments you wish you could take back
@Niko
Totally get it. Just keep an eye on him, and he’ll be back to his usual self soon
I just can’t believe he managed to get up there. I thought I had everything secured

These big dogs are surprisingly agile. They can reach places you wouldn’t think!

Right? I thought he was too big for that, but I guess I underestimated him.
That must have been so scary. I’m glad he’s okay. Just keep those edibles out of reach next time

Definitely learned my lesson the hard way. No more leaving them out, for sure
@Niko
Good call! They can be sneaky when they want something, lol
Glad he’s feeling better! Just remember, they don’t know what’s safe and what’s not

Exactly. It’s always a learning experience with pets. Thanks for the support

No problem! Just keep loving him, and he’ll forgive you for this little adventure
