I need some advice! I have a 4-year-old resident cat who has generally been calm and accepting of other animals. We recently rescued a black cat who was found on the street. At first, he seemed chill, but after a bad introduction, he attacked my resident cat. We’ve been working on their relationship—separating them, site switching, and using Feliway. Lately, they seemed to be getting along better, but I’m worried because he still stalks her sometimes and just yesterday, he jumped at her again. I’m starting to lose hope. Any suggestions?
Introducing cats is so tough! It sounds like you’re doing everything right, but it can be a slow process. Maybe slow it down again, use Feliway, and tire him out with play before their sessions. If the behavior continues, consulting a vet or behaviorist might help.

I agree! Sometimes it just takes longer than we expect. Keep being patient and try to create positive experiences for both of them.
It sounds like he might have some street instincts kicking in. Keeping them separated for a bit longer could help, especially if he gets too excited. Maybe try more interactive playtime with him to burn off some energy.
I’ve had similar issues with my cats. It takes time for them to adjust. Consider using treats to reinforce calm behavior when they’re together. It’s a tough journey, but it sounds like you’re making progress!
That’s a good sign that she’s not scared of him, but you definitely want to prevent any further aggression. Maybe try shorter sessions at first and gradually increase the time they spend together as they get more comfortable.
I think you’re on the right track, but it might be beneficial to go back a step. Focus on their individual spaces for now and try more gradual introductions. It’s a lot of work, but it’ll be worth it!
