My 11-year-old bulldog started acting strange today. She can’t walk, and I’ve had to carry her outside to go to the bathroom. I think she might have eaten something from a trash bag outside, possibly rotten food or bits of plastic. I’ve booked a vet appointment for tomorrow, but I’m really worried about what it could be. Has anyone else experienced this?
Try to stay calm until you can get her to the vet. Sorry you’re going through this, sending positive vibes.
I’d suggest taking her to the emergency vet as soon as possible.
With symptoms like that, I’d go to an emergency vet immediately. This isn’t something that can wait until tomorrow.
A dog suddenly being unable to walk is an emergency. You should take her to an emergency vet now.
If she can’t stand on her own, this is very serious, especially if it happened all at once. I’d head to the emergency vet right away.
Take her to the emergency vet now, not Reddit.
Keep an eye on her, especially if she stops eating or starts pooping blood. If that happens, go to the emergency vet. Sending positive thoughts your way.
This sounds serious, you should have gone to the emergency vet first thing this morning.
You might want to look up saddle thrombosis. It can cause sudden ataxia in the hind legs and is life-threatening. Definitely an emergency situation.
Your vet scheduled an appointment for tomorrow even after hearing that your dog can’t walk? You should definitely consider finding a new vet once this is all over. Best of luck to your dog.

Honestly, it sounds like OP might not have contacted the vet at all. I can’t imagine any vet hearing these symptoms and not telling them to bring the dog in immediately.
If her condition worsens, you should take her to the emergency vet.

The fact that she can’t walk is already pretty serious.

You’re right, she could have eaten something dangerous. This might require urgent care.
You shouldn’t wait. The moment she lost her ability to walk, that became an emergency. Take her to the ER.
