My cat was diagnosed with lung cancer and won't eat

Hi, so my cat was diagnosed with lung cancer a few days ago, and she just won’t eat anything. I’m giving her an appetite stimulant (Mirataz) every day, but the only thing she’ll take is Churu. She’s only eating about 5 packets a day, which isn’t enough, and it’s so painful to watch her get more brittle every day. I’ve tried canned chicken breast, almost all brands and flavors of cat treats I could find, parmesan cheese, and different types of both dry and canned cat food. I’m really looking for any suggestions or ideas you guys might have to help her get more fluids and nutrition.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Have you tried warming up her food? Sometimes it helps make it more appealing.

I haven’t tried that yet! Maybe I will give it a shot. Thanks for the idea!

Churu is great, but have you considered trying baby food? Just make sure it doesn’t have onion or garlic.

Yeah, baby food can be a hit! I used to give that to my cat when she was sick.

I totally get how hard this is. Have you thought about using a syringe to give her some liquid food if she won’t eat? It might help her get some nutrition.

That’s a good idea! I might try that if she keeps refusing her food.

I know it’s tough, but try mixing her Churu with some water to help with hydration. It could make a difference.

I never thought of that! I’ll definitely give it a go. Thanks!

Have you tried hand-feeding her? Sometimes that can encourage them to eat more.

Yeah, I’ve tried a little, but she seems so picky right now. I’ll keep at it though!
