Is Pine-Sol safe for dogs?

We see everywhere online that this stuff can harm pets, but the website says it’s okay to use in places where pets are. I have a 13-week-old puppy, weighing about 6 pounds. I mixed a small amount of the stuff with a lot of water and mopped my floors with it. I only used hot water in the bucket. Is this okay? Should I mop again with just water?

Pine-Sol, like many household cleaning products, contains chemicals that can be harmful to dogs if ingested in large quantities. The active ingredient in Pine-Sol is pine oil, which can cause irritation to a dog’s digestive system if consumed.

It is wise to err on the side of caution when using cleaning supplies near dogs. Despite the website’s assurances about safety, you should take your puppy’s size and age into account. It is important to get advice from a veterinarian. Reapplying a simple water mop might help get rid of any leftover substance and reduce hazards.
