My dog was drooling this morning, so my older brother brought him to the vet. We were told it was a distemper, and he was given all the necessary shots. But this morning, I see no progress; he has a twisted neck, drools more, and tries to bite me. I’m worried he’ll die. He always sleeps next me and we play together. Just thinking about it causes me anxiety attacks. On Thursday, I’ll take him to a superior veterinarian who was recommended to me. I hope they offer us better news or something. I honestly do not want to lose him.
It might have been rabies. Be exceedingly careful not to be bitten.
Yes, I thought so, but I’ll confirm it on Thursday.es, I thought so, but I’ll confirm it on Thursday.
The medications gave not had adequate time to start working. Continue to follow veterinary advice. Distemper is not an overnight recovery
Distemper is treatable, but every survivor I’ve encountered has had neurological problems and is often irritable. I hope for the best and that whatever it is can be treated, but I also know that distemper is a difficult recovery with long-term consequences.
Stay away so you don’t get bitten. If you do, please get a rabies vaccination.
I keep you and your puppy in my thoughts.
Homeopathic remedy. Distemperium 200c, given three times per day for nearly two months, benefitted a dog I know. However, the recuperation did not happen quickly, and the benefits began to emerge after about three weeks.
