I’ve been feeling like my cats are super bored all the time. They’re indoors and don’t really play with each other much, and they only seem happy when I’m playing with them. I do my best to play with them for about 10 minutes a couple of times a day, but honestly, I just don’t have the energy for more. I feel kinda guilty because I wish I could let them outside for more fun. Sometimes I take them for walks on a harness, but it just takes a lot out of me. Any ideas on how to keep them entertained?
I totally get you… I have a young male kitten and my energy is not what it used to be. When his electronic toys broke, I had to get creative. Cardboard boxes and toilet roll middles kept him entertained for a bit. I also set up some cat TV videos on my tablet for him to watch. Have you tried any of those?
I found those rechargeable electronic balls with tails to be a lifesaver. They zoom around randomly and keep my cat engaged for ages. You might want to check those out, especially if you’re low on energy. They’re super entertaining for the cats.
My cat loves anything that dangles! I got this set of attachments on wands that suction to the floor. It keeps him busy for a while, and he loves batting at the toys that hang up high. Have you thought about getting something like that?
Have you ever thought about adding some shelves for them? Cats love being up high and it can give them a new perspective. I built some shelves and it was a game changer. Plus, they get to watch birds outside if you place them near a window.
