Does your dog always know when you’re about to leave?

Every morning, as soon as I reach for my keys, Max’s ears droop and his tail tucks between his legs. He knows I’m about to leave and starts following me around, giving me those sad puppy eyes. When I open the door, he whines, staring at me like I’m abandoning him. It’s heartbreaking, even though I’m only gone for a few hours. He always acts like he’s not sure if I’m coming back.

Same! Hubby and I work from home. If I go to the store (and hubby stays home with them) for even 30 mins, the pups start howling and crying. They’re not even alone! If I grab my purse (even if I don’t leave), they start getting whiney. Like bros, get it together. lol

Yup, anytime we leave, the sad, sad faces. They literally do nothing but sleep by the door.

Omg this would break me… so grateful to work from home! Thankfully both my dogs go to their crate happily, so it’s not too hard to leave them. They sure do show they missed me when I get home though!

Mine know when I’m leaving too! My older one gets this worried look and howls as I go out the door. I can hear him as I get in the car. It’s so hard. He’s getting better after 5 years. I’m glad I work from home. I went for an overnight sleep study, and he must have known something was up. My daughter said he sat in my office chair and just looked angry for hours.

Mine is shoes. I’m a student doing uni online, so getting my keys might just mean I’m unlocking the car to grab something. But putting shoes on? That means I’m going somewhere. Let the sad begin. (Yeah, I should probably wear shoes more, but barefoot around the house is the best.)
