I don’t understand why many of these products are so bad. For example, I could put my old iPhone 5 on my dog and find its location using Google Maps. It would be accurate and last a few hours. When I asked about this, they said they sacrifice GPS accuracy and updates to make the battery last longer. So instead of a product that stops working when the battery dies, they make a product that never really works well. Have you found any products that actually work?

It can be frustrating when pet trackers don’t seem to live up to expectations.
Using an old phone as a tracker sounds like a clever idea, but I understand the limitations on battery life.
