Hi, my metal pet fountain has developed mineral deposits. Is it safe to use CLR on it? I plan to soak it in a CLR and water solution and rinse it thoroughly afterward.
White vinegar is the best for this! It cleans stainless steel really well and is safe for pets.
And if vinegar doesn’t remove everything, a light scrub with baking soda will help too.
There are many safer options out there. I wouldn’t recommend using CLR on that.
Just soak it in water and vinegar for a bit, then wipe it down and rinse well. I clean the top of the fountain weekly and the basin at least monthly.
