My female cat is driving me crazy with her litter box issues! I have two cats, but she’s the only one with this problem. She’s younger than my other cat, and I thought it could be anxiety, but the vet says she’s fine. It might just be a bad habit now. I’ve changed the box and litter multiple times, but she still pees everywhere – on my couch, shoes, and even the floor! I’ve tried a box with paper towels and she used it a few times, but it’s not consistent. Any tips on how to get her back to using the litter box properly?
If she uses the paper towel one, maybe try puppy pads instead? Also, make sure you clean any areas she’s peed on with an enzyme cleaner. If she can still smell her pee, she’ll keep going in the same spots.

What’s an enzyme cleaner? Is it different from regular cleaning stuff?

Yeah, enzyme cleaners break down the proteins in the urine so the smell is completely gone. Regular cleaners might just mask the smell, but your cat can still detect it!
If it’s not a health thing, try placing her in the litter box whenever you catch her peeing somewhere else. My cat used to pee on clothes, and that’s how I trained her to stop.

I’ll give that a shot! It’s hard to catch her in the act, but maybe this will help her get the message. Thanks for the tip!
Is she spayed? If not, she might be spraying to mark her territory. A vet visit might help if that’s the case.

Yeah, she’s been spayed since she was 6 months old. I might take her to a different vet for a second opinion though, just to be sure.
I’ve heard about something called ‘cat attract’ that you can mix into the litter. It’s supposed to encourage them to use the box. Maybe give that a try?

Ooh, I’ve never heard of that. I’ll look it up and see if it helps. Thanks!
How many litter boxes do you have? With two cats, you might need more than one box so they both feel comfortable.

I have two, and I added one with just paper towels, but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try adding another litter box.
