Car rides with my cat... is it okay?

Hello, I was just curious to hear some opinions on this situation: my partner left for a few weeks for work, so it’s just me and my cat at home. Unfortunately, there have been some break-ins in my town, and I don’t feel safe at night. My family lives just 5 minutes away, and my cat knows them, as well as their pets. She often spends time there when I leave for trips. So, I decided to spend the nights there for a few weeks until I’m not alone at home anymore.

Do you think my cat will be fine with these 5-minute car rides two times a day? She’s pretty chill in the car and just looks around in her carrier, but I’m wondering if that could be stressful in addition to the change of environment, even if it’s not a new one for her.

I hope this makes sense because English is not my first language, and I would love to hear opinions or tips on how to handle this. Thank you so much!

I think she’ll be fine with those short rides! If she’s already used to the car and the family place, it should help her feel more relaxed.

Short car rides are usually okay for cats, especially if they’re familiar with the environment. Just make sure she has her favorite blanket or toy with her!

Since she’s chill in the car, I think it’ll be fine. Just keep the rides calm and short, and she should adjust well.

You might also want to give her some time to adjust at your family’s place. Cats can be sensitive to change, even if it’s a familiar place.

Make sure to secure her carrier well in the car. Safety first! But it sounds like a good plan to keep you both safe.
