When we wanted to keep our indoor cat out of certain areas, we found that adjustable pet gates with vertical bars worked well. These gates are sturdy and can be installed without damaging walls, which is great if you’re renting. We also used baby gates in some areas, but they weren’t as effective because our cat could jump over them. Additionally, we found that double-sided tape on furniture and using deterrent mats in restricted areas helped reinforce boundaries. The key is to choose barriers that are high enough to prevent jumping and are securely installed to avoid tipping over.
