Anyone else dealing with pet loss...?

I’m struggling today. My dog, Georgie, is going in for euthanasia later this afternoon. I’ve had him since I was a kid, and I honestly don’t remember life without him. He’s been my best friend and support through everything. I’m just not sure how to handle this… If anyone has advice or just comforting words, I’d appreciate it. Thanks for reading.

I’m so sorry to hear that… It hurts, and it’s okay to cry. Just know that it’s always worth it to love them. I lost my dog when I was 13 and I still think about him. Just give yourself time to grieve.

Thanks, that really helps. I just don’t know how to start dealing with it.

Take it one day at a time, seriously. There’s no right way to grieve.

I’m sorry man, just know you are doing the right thing to end his suffering.

Sit with him, pet him gently, and tell him it’s okay. He can run free without pain soon. You’ll miss him, but he knows you love him.

It’s so hard, but time helps. If you decide to adopt again, take your time. No pet can replace him, but a new friend can help heal your heart.

That makes sense… I just can’t even think about that right now.

Be there for him in his last moments. It’s painful, but he’ll feel comforted by you. Maybe find a way to remember him, like a photo or something.
