I’m looking to rescue a second puppy. I was surprised by the cost of the last one I adopted, which was $600. I fell in love with her and was willing to pay whatever. Now, I found a place charging $750 for a puppy! Is that normal? I thought rescues usually charge less. Can someone explain why the fees are so high?
Honestly, $750 isn’t unheard of these days. A lot of rescues include vaccines and spaying in that price.

Wait, what does that include? I thought it was just for the puppy.
@Charlie
It usually covers the vet check, shots, and spay/neuter. It adds up fast.
I feel you. My last rescue was $500, and it included some basic vet stuff. Just seems a bit steep.

Right? I get that rescues need to cover costs, but still… $750 seems a lot.
Puppies are in demand, so rescues can charge more. It helps them keep going.

That makes sense, but still feels like it’s getting a bit extreme.
Yeah, I’ve seen some rescues charge over $1,000 for puppies. It’s wild!

Is that for real? What do they even include at that price?

I think they cover all vet costs and maybe training, but still… wow.
Some rescues also need to fund care for older dogs, so they charge higher for puppies.

That’s a good point. I just hope the fees help all the pups in need.
