Where can I hang out with animals that isn't a shelter?

Hey guys, I miss being around cats and dogs, but I found out that shelters aren’t so keen on taking volunteers. I’m looking for fresh ideas on where I can hang out with animals. I had to move pretty far from my friends and family who have pets, and most rentals only allow fish or small pets. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Pet sitting could be a great option! You can get paid while cuddling with cute animals.

Check if there’s a cat cafe near you. They’re super fun and a great way to be around cats!

Local foster rescues and sanctuaries might be open to volunteers. Also, consider joining a Meals on Wheels program to help homebound folks with their pets.

Definitely look into foster-based rescues! They often have meet-and-greet events where you can help out. Plus, there might be cat events too!

You might want to volunteer at places like PetSmart; they often need help with their cats.

Don’t forget about dog walking! Apps like Rover can connect you with pet owners in need.

You could also check local vet offices or doggy daycares. They might need extra hands to hang out with the animals!

A petting zoo could be a fun spot too! Kids love it, and you can pet various animals.

If you find any boarding facilities, they might be open to having volunteers come in to help out.
