When will it get easier with my puppy? šŸ¶

First-time dog owner here, and I absolutely love my pup, but heā€™s exhausting! Heā€™s 12 weeks old, and while heā€™s good with crate training at night, the daytime is a struggle. I work from home, and even with a playpen, heā€™s a jumper, so I worry about leaving him unattended. If heā€™s in the crate, he cries, and he bites everything even with lots of chew toys around. I know itā€™ll get better with time, but any idea when? lol.

Try this tip I learned from a trainer: when he jumps, turn your back and donā€™t react. Heā€™ll learn that jumping wonā€™t get attention. For teething, try white bones stuffed with carrotsā€”my dog loved the challenge! Also, stinky chew treats from the pet store worked wonders. Yes, they smell, but heā€™ll love them more than your furniture. Good luck! Someday youā€™ll miss these puppy moments.

This worked for my dog too! Ignoring her when she wanted attention really helped calm the jumping over time.

Enjoy every bit of it! Their puppy years are tough, but they go by fast, and youā€™ll cherish these memories.

Try putting him in the playpen during the day when youā€™re home to watch. My dogā€™s a jumper, but he surprisingly doesnā€™t jump the pen! Also, donā€™t forget the treats but in moderation. It can take 6 months to a year for them to really settle.

Ever tried a spray bottle? That worked wonders when my dog was a puppy. Just a little spritz when he gets too wild.

Consistency is key! What breed is he? And a tired dog is a well-behaved dog. Keep training simple: sit, stay, recall. Use his food for training. I eventually invested in an online training course, and it made a huge difference. My dog went from being a challenging pup to an amazing companion.
