I’m incredibly stressed with a kitten adoption situation and could use help if possible. Earlier this year, I found a feral mama cat (I named her Nebula) with a litter of Bombay kittens in my garden. This is Orange County, CA. I’ve never had pets before, just fish. After a lot of research, I managed to catch, tame, and socialize all the kittens. Unfortunately, Nebula is so small that she got mixed up with her growing kittens, and I couldn’t catch her for spaying. She seemed to be getting more comfortable with me, but she growled when I brought the first kitten inside. At the end of October, she returned with two kittens from a new litter. I left them food, but haven’t seen her since. I don’t know how many are in this new litter, and it’s stressful not knowing where her den is. It’s critical to start socializing them by 8 weeks old for better chances of adoption. Shelters in OC are full, and the local kill shelter charges over $100 to relinquish an animal, which I can’t afford on top of what I’ve already spent. As they’re now 6 months old, time is running out, and I plan to keep 2-3 kittens and adopt out the rest. Are you or anyone you know in the area open to adopting a kitten? I have resources for affordable vets and insurance and can help new cat owners. I just want to keep these kittens safe from cars and coyotes.
If you lived closer I’d gladly take a kitten. Try r/rescuecats.

Already tried I’d have to farm karma using time I don’t have in order to even post. What’s ‘closer’ btw?
@Remy
Closer would be in Canada Message the mods; they can make exceptions with proof you have rescues.
I wish I could help! Have you checked local Facebook groups or community pages? Sometimes people are looking for pets there.

That’s a good idea! I’ll look into that. Thanks!
It’s great that you’ve socialized them. Have you thought about reaching out to local vets? They sometimes know of people looking to adopt.

I haven’t tried that yet! I’ll definitely ask around. Thanks for the tip!
It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job with them! I hope you find them good homes soon.

Thank you! I really appreciate the support. It’s been a lot to handle.
Have you considered fostering through a rescue? They might help you with finding adopters.

I’ve looked into it, but many rescues are full. I’ll keep trying though!
