Tips for Teaching the 'Drop It' Command to Your Dog

I just watched a video on teaching dogs the “Drop It” command and it inspired me to work on this with Max, my 3-year-old Labrador Retriever. He’s energetic and loves to play fetch, but getting him to let go of toys or other things he picks up has always been tricky.

The video laid out the steps well, so I’m excited to give it a try with him. Has anyone here successfully taught their dog the “Drop It” command? How long did it take for your dog to learn it? Any tips or personal stories would be really helpful.
