Should I take in the stray kitten... or leave it outside?

There’s a stray kitten with its parents in my backyard, and I’m kinda torn about what to do. I adopted one kitten a while back, but now I see this one, and it’s my kitten’s sibling! I’ve been feeding them, but I’m worried about the cold weather coming. Should I bring the other kitten inside or leave it with its family? IDK what to do…

Honestly, if the kitten is willing to come inside, that might be the best option! But if not, make sure to keep feeding it and maybe build a small shelter for them.

That sounds like a good plan. How cold does it usually get there?

In NJ, it can drop to the 20s or even lower, so keeping them warm is key!

Definitely try to get the other kitten! They can keep each other company and a warm home is way better than outside.

Yeah, I want to! Just nervous about the parents too.

Have you thought about TNR for the parents? It could help with them too.

TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return. Basically, you can get the parents fixed and then release them back. It helps control the population and keeps them healthier.

Indoor life is so much better for kittens! They can really thrive inside. Plus, your kitten might get lonely without a buddy.

I totally agree. I just want to make the right choice for all of them!

Yeah, I haven’t seen the others in a while. I’ll keep looking for them.

Good luck! It’s tough but you’re doing a great thing by caring for them. Just keep feeding them and see if the other kitten wants to come inside.
