Hey everyone! My girlfriend and I are moving into an apartment with hardwood floors (no carpets!), and we plan to adopt a cat eventually. I’m curious about how you all keep your homes spotless. Aside from daily cleaning, sweeping, and mopping, what do you do to keep allergies in check? How do you handle cat shedding? Does bathing help? I’m totally new to this, so any tips are appreciated. Thanks!
I just take allergy meds every day 
That’s my secret!
I use a Roomba daily and a Bissell steam mop when needed. Also, having a lint roller for furniture helps a lot. Allergy pills are a must, and I brush my cat often. A monthly bath helps too, plus changing HVAC filters regularly.
Brushing is key, especially for long-haired cats. I bathe mine occasionally, but they clean themselves pretty well. We have a Swiffer for the kitchen, and I run the Roomba daily. We also mop weekly and keep our shoes off inside.
My husband did exposure therapy for allergies while dating. We sweep daily, vacuum the bed, and keep the cats off it. A good HEPA air filter is a lifesaver!
Allergy meds, regular baths, and daily brushing are essential! Also, keep up with HVAC maintenance and invest in good air purifiers for the bedrooms. A robotic vacuum is super helpful.
Honestly, my home has never been clean at all times Living life gets messy, and I’ve accepted that!
Vacuum a lot and clean the litter box multiple times a day. Just know that with a pet, your house won’t be spotless.
I’ve come to terms with my home not being squeaky clean. Bathing a cat regularly can make both of you miserable!
