I’m 29 years old and have wanted a dog for some time. I’ve taken the proper steps to find the best pet for me and have gotten all the necessary supplies. I’m supposed to pick up the dog tomorrow. However, my parent, who has a heavy influence on me despite us not living together, told me it would be selfish to get a pet since I work 8 hours a day. They advised me to be patient and wait for a better time.
Now I’m back at square one, wondering if I’m doing the right thing or if I’m being selfish.
