Yeah, it’s strange. At first, I thought it might be a vitamin deficiency, but after some tests, everything seemed fine. He tends to do it right before falling asleep or when he’s happy and playing, and he always drinks water right after. I’m not sure if he’s just addicted to the salty taste or what. He also loves licking my legs right after I get out of the shower, even though he has his water bowl. I can’t even use lotion on my legs anymore because he’ll lick it off. Is this normal? Could something be wrong with my dog, or is there a way to change this behavior?

I have a dog who loves licking my feet too. I am trying gently to discourage it. I will let others answer on the health issues, which are outside my wheelhouse.

Normal for them to do. You can train him not to lick anymore. You have to be firm in your voice and say no. Give him time to get the connection. Good luck.

Or is it because of the salt on your skin? Thanks for the tip.
