Hi all, my 6-month-old cat keeps peeing on me while I’m in bed. We have 2 litter boxes in the house (one upstairs, one downstairs), but she keeps peeing on us. The litter is about 4 days old (from today) and gets scooped daily, with a full clean and litter replacement every Sunday. Her behavior seems normal, so I don’t think she’s sick, but I’m not an expert on her health.
Does anyone know why she might be doing this? Should I take her to the vet to get checked out? We did just switch to a new brand of litter, so maybe she’s just being picky. I’m not sure what to do, and she’s been doing this all week.
When a cat pees on a person, it indicates that something is wrong, and while you may not be able to pinpoint the source, there is a lot you can do in terms of remaining vigilant to assist you in solving the problem, regardless of what it is, which may be especially useful if peeing on humans appears to be a chronic problem.
Cats may urinate on you due to behavioral issues like frustration, stress, or anxiety. Changes in their routine, such as a new person in the house or moving, can upset them and alter their urinating habits. Try to identify and address the source of their stress to help resolve this issue.
