So as the title says, I have everything ready to welcome this sweet stray cat into my house. I feel like it’ll really help me emotionally to have a little friend. But I’m a bit worried about any disease risks, like rabies or cat scratch fever. He hasn’t bitten anyone and seems super friendly, but he’s been outside for about 2 weeks. Is there anything I should be aware of? Any advice would be amazing, thanks!
You should definitely get him to a vet for shots and deworming, but there’s not much you can catch from a cat. Just keep an eye on him for now.
Congrats on the new buddy! Just make sure to give it a couple of weeks before taking him to the vet in case someone claims him.
That’s awesome! Just be cautious and get him checked out soon. He looks like he really wants to be indoors.

Yeah, he tries to sneak in every time I open the door. He’s so sweet!
You’re doing a great thing! Just keep him quarantined until you can get him to the vet.

I can try, but it’s really cold outside. I don’t want him freezing.
If he gets scratched, just keep it clean. As for rabies, check local wildlife data to see the risk in your area.

Thanks for the info! I’m definitely going to check that out.
You’re a good person for helping him out! Just make sure he gets a vet check soon.
I brought a stray in not long ago too. She was super friendly and adjusted quickly. You got this!
