Hello folks…I love animals and currently own a couple of pets. I’ve always loved the idea of traveling with my dog, especially since I don’t enjoy human company as much—so please, no suggestions about getting a boyfriend or friends like my mom does!
I recently mentioned that I would love to take my puppy (once he grows up) with me to Japan and other locations. However, my mom thinks it’s abusive and believes I should just leave him at home with her. He’s a Chinese Crested, and I would have him on board with me.
What’s your opinion on this? Is it cruel to take my dog on a plane with me, or can it be a positive experience for both of us? I’d really appreciate any thoughts or experiences you can share…Thanks
Proper preparation can make a significant difference. Ensure that your dog is comfortable in his carrier and that it meets airline requirements. Familiarize him with the carrier before the trip, and try to make it a positive space with treats and toys.
While it is important to consider your dog’s comfort, traveling with him can be positive if you plan well. Ensure you are meeting his needs and managing stress levels to make the journey enjoyable for both of you.
I’ve taken my dog on a few trips, and it’s been awesome for us. For the dog, as long as they’re comfortable and used to travel, it can be a great adventure. My furry friend actually seems to enjoy new places and being with me more than staying behind. Just make sure to check the airline’s pet policies and keep your dog comfy during the flight. It’s not cruel if you prepare well.
You should also be aware that dogs can become ill when travelling and plan accordingly. My chihuahua suddenly became ill while on a road trip, and I had to stop in the middle of nowhere Iowa to have her evaluated at an emergency clinic since she couldn’t stop vomiting. This could be a much bigger difficulty in another nation if there is a language barrier or a cultural difference in pet care.
He will not experience any health concerns that could cause her problems. What counts is that after she’s established in her new home, she will be with you and feel happy and cherished. No, I don’t think it is not kind, and moving with dogs requires people to do it frequently.
