I’m struggling with a tough decision about my dog Kage. He’s 11.5 and just got diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma. He’s been losing weight, is super picky with food, and gets exhausted easily on walks. I’ve tried everything to help him eat, but he’s barely eating now. The vet is coming tomorrow, but I’m not sure if it’s too early. Any advice would mean a lot. Thanks.
I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It sounds really tough. Have you talked to your vet about his quality of life?

Yeah, definitely check in with your vet. They can help gauge how much he’s suffering and if it’s time.
It’s such a hard decision. I had to make a similar choice with my pup. If he’s still showing some happiness, maybe give it a few more days?

But you also want to consider his comfort. It’s a heartbreaking situation. Trust your instincts.
I completely understand your struggle. Just remember, it’s about what’s best for Kage. You know him best.
Sending you lots of hugs. It’s never easy. If he’s not enjoying life, it might be kinder to let him go.

Thank you. That’s what I’m worried about. I just want him to have dignity.
It sounds like you’ve done everything you can for him. If he’s in pain or not eating, it could be time to let him rest.
