Is Convenia good for cats with colds, or should I just give them medicine that they can swallow?

Greetings, everybody. I’m from the Philippines and my two 1 year old cats are having colds. It’s been 2 days of them sneezing and I took them to the vet earlier today. The vet prescribed co-amox antibiotics but I am having trouble giving them this since they salivate and would run away. I tried everything and gently try to get them drinking, but I don’t think it’s okay. Should I opt for the antibiotic shot that is good for a week? I don’t know why they have colds if it is a virus or what but it was rainy the past days and I think they got wet from the rain the previous days. Thanks for the advice please reply :’ ( I’m kinda scared about the convenia shot since I havent tried it with my previous cats.

If it’s hard to get the oral antibiotic into them, Convenia is a great two-week injectable option.

Alright, many thanks for that. Even though they occasionally breathe through their mouths and sneeze, is it still acceptable to feed them convenia? I create a type of nabu chamber for them in the carrier and nebulize them that way.

That’s a question for your vet, but we often use Convenia for cats with upper respiratory issues.

I’m a veterinary assistant for my clinic. Anything you do with your kittens should be approved by your veterinarian before you do anything.

Just to make sure: A complete blood count? Like doing bloodwork?

If so, yes, it’s often given without bloodwork but long-term use (months) of it should be monitored by doing bloodwork every few months or so.

Yes, thats what I mean by CBC. Okay, thank you for answering my questions. I think that’s what I can do best for them. Thank you this helps a lot.
