I have fallen in love with my neighbor's cat

An adorable little black kitten was found by my neighbor, and I have a strong affection for it. She already has five cats at home, and I help care for the kittens when she travels. I feel like I’ve grown close to the small cat.

It’s normal to grow connected to a cat you’re observing, but keep in mind that it belongs to her and she probably gives it proper care. If you’re thinking about obtaining a cat of your own, give it some serious thought first because cats may be costly and labor-intensive to care for. Having a cat permanently differs greatly from simply visiting one.

The best course of action is to remove yourself from the scenario and come up with a courteous excuse to stop helping if you start to feel like taking the cat. Not only is it immoral to steal a cat, but you could face serious repercussions because she would probably suspect you.

I appreciate your response. I should probably take a two-week sabbatical, in my opinion. Since my neighbor is so nice, I don’t want to bother her. I’m really annoyed when I have these sinister ideas since I never imagined having such horrible ones. You may be confident that I won’t steal the kitten.

This seems a great strategy. All that matters is that she is providing her cat with proper care, and you seem to believe that her animal is in a nice environment. I wouldn’t beg to keep the kitten; it will probably agitate her, and you never know if you’ll be invited back.

It’s important to communicate openly and honestly with her. You can politely ask if you can keep the kitten, and she might agree!

In a lighthearted manner, ask her if she’s cool with letting you have the cat. You never know, you may end up with the cat.

Maybe tell her how much you love the cat and someday if she feels overwhelmed you would be happy to take cat.

I’m trying to change my perspective right now, and it’s actually kind of wonderful to just occasionally glance at the kitten. People have a lot of wacky ideas that they would never really act upon in their lifetimes, after all.

I know what you mean, I think of getting a pet all the time but I would have to adjust so much of my life and lose a lot of freedom, so I’m in no rush.

Since most cat parents view their pets as children, what you are describing is not too unlike kidnapping.

For the love of God, please don’t act on these thoughts and instead find a constructive way to cope with them.

It is a felony. You may find yourself in danger, particularly if the cat has a chip.

Imagine the cat parent’s depression when they cannot locate their child. How the cat cannot comprehend what is happening. I’m hoping you’re sympathetic enough to get what I’m saying.

ALL YOU NEED TO DO NOW GET THE CAT OF YOUR OWN. And then consider your reaction if someone were to take him OR her from you :joy:
