She’s peed three times but still won’t eat and only sips a little water.

I need additional information. Are you a new dog owner? Or did you move with your existing dog? If it’s a fresh puppy, what kind of breeder? Backyard puppy mill or legitimate breeder? How old is the dog? What is your routine? How do you train your dog? What about your history with this dog?

Existing dog. She’s 2. Found her since she was maybe a few months

Dogs tend to poop during peaceful walks, so take her for a walk early in the morning or late at night. She will poop!

This reminds me of parents who are concerned that their children will not eat. Your dog will poop.

My dog won’t poop in new locations. He’s far too engaged in smelling anything he can discover. You will eventually get your puppy there. Simply stroll the same regions over and over.

@TobyFetcher My dog was a winter puppy, so she only saw snow for the first two months of housetraining. In the spring, when the snow was melting, she would poop on the last pile of snow until it vanished. After that, she held it for 3 days until she eventually needed to go on the grass.

Take a lengthy walk and hope she discovers a place she likes to visit! I’d think it’s just nerves from being in a new environment! Regarding eating, have you tried hand-feeding her? Giving her a high-reward treat (something really yummy and almost enticing to her)? When is her first veterinary appointment?

Any sort of change can mess up a dogs system. I often dog sit. There’s a pair of pups I work with that won’t eat the day the owners leave- it takes about 24 hours before appetite is back. Another dog I sit didn’t poop the whole first day I was there.
In general, walking loosens the bowels. Have you tried going for a long walk?
