Foster homes that temporarily take cats in the UK?

I need help finding somewhere to temporarily take my cat while I’m homeless. I’m leaving an abusive situation soon, and I can’t take her with me to emergency accommodation. I really don’t want to leave her behind. I’m in Leeds, UK, and I’ll do anything to keep her safe. Any suggestions?

Some shelters have temporary foster programs for victims of domestic abuse. I’d recommend reaching out to local shelters and rescues to see if they can help or refer you to someone who can.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll start calling around ASAP.

Definitely tell the shelter your situation. Make it clear you want your cat back once you find a new place.

I will do that, thanks for the tip!

Try asking the RSPCA. They offer various services, and they might have something for situations like yours.

Great idea! I’ll reach out to them too.

Start calling rescues and explain your situation. Be honest about needing a safe place for your cat, and that you’ll return for her. Also, congrats on your bravery in getting out!

Thanks so much! Your support means a lot.

Cats Protection has a program that might help. I’ve heard mixed reviews about their services, but it could be worth checking out, especially for DV situations.

I’ll give them a shot. Thanks for the heads-up!
