So I recently adopted a kitten from the shelter a few months ago. He’s going on 7 months now and has always been very vocal. I’ve never minded it, but it’s gotten to the point that it’s absolutely obnoxious. He meows every morning BEGGING for wet food even though he has dry food in his bowl. I had to kick him out of my room because it was interfering with my sleep and my job. Now he goes to my door and meows under it, trying to wake me up. It’s not just a meow here and there; it’s nonstop and gets louder! Even after he eats, he meows for more food. I play with him, give him food, have toys everywhere, and he even has a window to look out of, but he still meows for no reason. I’m exhausted. I love him and don’t want to get rid of him, but I’m not sure I can handle 20 years of this. Please help.

Sounds like he might just be a talkative kitty! Have you tried feeding him smaller meals more often? It might help reduce that begging!
I haven’t tried that yet. I’ll give it a shot. Thanks for the tip!
Maybe he’s just bored? Have you thought about adding more interactive toys or puzzles for him? It could keep him occupied.

I have some toys around, but I can look into more interactive ones. Good idea!
You could try a feeding schedule too. Cats thrive on routine, and it might help reduce his meowing if he knows when to expect food.

That sounds promising. I’ll try to set a regular schedule for him.
I feel you! My cat was the same way. I ended up getting a puzzle feeder, and it helped a ton. He has to work for his food now!

Nice! I’ll definitely look into a puzzle feeder. Anything is worth a shot at this point!
Does he have enough playtime? Sometimes kitties just need more stimulation. Try wearing him out before bedtime!

I play with him daily, but maybe I need to increase it. I’ll try to tire him out more before bed!
