Can I give catnip to my dog?

Hello Peeps,

I’ve read that catnip is safe for dogs, but I’m curious if anyone has tried it and had any negative experiences. Also, is it okay to give my dog catnip that’s marketed for cats? I assume it doesn’t make a difference, but I want to be sure.

As the other commenter mentioned, you can. I’d rather not as I’ve found that it only makes my dog obnoxiously horny. Haha

Dogs can safely consume catnip, but they won’t experience the same side effects that cats do (their behavior won’t change after ingesting catnip).

It makes no difference whether catnip is marketed for cats or not; catnip is the same thing either way.

Catnip gets cats all excited, but for dogs, it’s kind of the opposite. Some dogs might get sleepy if they have it, but not all. It’s safe as long as you don’t overdo it.

Yes! Not only is catnip safe for dogs, it is also good for them . Catnip contains vitamins C and E, magnesium, flavonoids, tannins, and essential oils.
