I’m feeling shocked today and could use some support. I have two canaries, a male and a female. This morning, I found out a predator bird attacked that one of them. I only found the head left and I’m devastated. The other canary seems okay though; he’s still singing and eating.
I’m really worried about how this might affect him. The cage was intact on the balcony, so I think it might have been an eagle or something. I’m looking for advice on how to prevent this from happening again, and I’d love to hear any tips on coping with this loss. Do you think the surviving bird knows what happened? Thanks for any help you can give!
I’m so sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is really tough. It sounds like the surviving canary is doing okay for now. Have you thought about bringing the cage inside?
That’s really sad. I’ve had canaries too, and they can be sensitive. Maybe the other bird will adjust, but I’d keep an eye on him. Have you checked with a vet?
