I’m currently shopping around for pet insurance for my 4 dogs and 3 cats and would love to hear your thoughts on the best options in Canada. I recently moved in with my SO in Toronto, Ontario, so I’m familiar with US pet insurance but not so much with what’s available here.
Is pet insurance worth it in Canada? Of the companies I’ve listed below, do you have experience with any of them? If so, what has your experience been like? I’m not sure how much the cost of pet insurance varies by province, but any insight or reviews would be super helpful.
We have a large pet family—three cats and four dogs—and we’re about to move to Vancouver, BC. I had two cats and two dogs before I met my husband, and he had one cat and two dogs. It’s definitely a rambunctious, blended furry family! We don’t plan on having kids, so these pets are like our children. However, with so many animals, the costs can add up quickly, so we’re looking for something affordable since we don’t have much disposable income.
Here are the companies I know of in Canada: Fetch, Furkin, Trupanion, Desjardins, Costco, Peppermint, OVMA, Spot, and ASPCA. If you have any other suggestions for good or trustworthy Canadian pet insurance companies, I’m all ears. Thanks, everyone!
