Are there really 'beginner pets'?

I know this might spark some debate, but I truly believe there’s no such thing as a ‘beginner pet.’ Sure, some animals might be easier to care for than others, but that doesn’t mean we should neglect them or skip the research. I’ve seen parents get pets for their kids as a ‘test,’ and when those pets are neglected, no one steps in to help. Plus, many of these so-called ‘beginner pets’ like hamsters, reptiles, birds, and fish have complex needs. We shouldn’t treat living creatures as experiments. Every animal deserves proper care, research, and attention. Mistakes happen, but using an animal’s life just to ‘gain experience’ needs to end.

I totally agree. Animals aren’t toys or experiments. They deserve love and attention, regardless of their type.

I think people underestimate the commitment it takes to care for pets. Even fish need proper environments!

It’s frustrating to see neglect. Every pet has its own needs, and they all deserve respect.

I get that some pets are more low-maintenance, but that doesn’t mean they should be treated any less seriously.

It’s about time we stop using animals as experiments. They have feelings too.
